What The Soul Wants

I love the concept behind this write. The soul of a poet bleeds deep and has wants and desires unlike others. For the soul wants and needs to be heard. I want to thank Charlene Gates for such a wonderful poem and also for hosting the LAB.  So the question is, what does your soul want?

  3. The touch of innocents
A feeling I long for deep within my soul
The memories of freedom where the worldly values meant nothing.
This is what my soul yearns for
To dance free as raindrops trickle across my skin
Cleansing me of the filth of this world
I just want to be Free!
Free to laugh at the humor of the nature that surrounds me
Free to scribe each and every heartbeat that pulsates through my body,
     flowing into my arm
Then into the hand which release the ink onto my pad
    It what my soul wants
The fame and glory means nothing
Without the heart of a story
And a tale can not gain heart
Without the yearning of the soul
    Is that asking to much
    I really don’t so
    Because, after all
    It what my soul wants
    And what my soul wants

Enlightening and captivating poem Black Phoenix. May your soul receive that freedom you yearn for my friend and poetic brother, for I believe all of our souls want to just be free from all this chaos that is ensuing in the world lately.

    she just screams
    her wishes into the night
wishing for her soul to reborn
    feeling older then her time
she feels her soul doesn’t belong to this world
    but another
    she wishes to be reborn
she wishes for a new soul
cause she is sick of squinting through the cracks
and trying to see the light
    even stepping out a little
    just to be pushed back
    deeper inside
this soul she doesn’t not want
    with verbal abuse
    lining the walls
    of her heart
they weren’t suppose to break in
    but one by one
they broke her down piece by piece
and now she wishes for matches
    to burn down the mess
so she can rise from the ashes
she just wants to be a new soul
    with new wings
    she wants to experience
all that joy and pain brings
she wants to resurrect the walls
just to watch them fall again
to get blinded by the sun
just to stumble back to the dark again
and she wants to let go off the past
to make room for the future
yet she just keeps ripping at scars
    and destroying the sutures
and she sits there and screams
    at the same stars
she has been reaching for all her life
not knowing how she is staying alive
    with out breathing
with a soul that is shattered in a million pieces
and she wonders if she could ever
put down the pen and speak to them
or if she will always be alone
    to face the world
that doesn’t make sense to her
    and she lights the match
and doesn’t even flinch as the flames
    burn her skin
and she doesn’t even run just lays in the ash
    with tears down her face
    spreading beautiful wings
out of years full of pain.

A poem that blown me away MizzFab. I believe I read you in the past, and this has to be by far my favorite of yours. Very raw, powerful, beautiful, and tenderly sad my friend and writing sister.

Awesome and powerful write Charlene. When we are born, our souls yearn to just let it’s light shine as bright as the sun so everyone can see it. Beautiful job Charlene. 🙂

For twenty four years I have been alone without that special someone to share my life with. One day, I hope and I pray that I meet that one true love of mine that my Heavenly father will send down to me from Heaven. So my piece I would like to share is entitled “One Day”. Wishing everyone here at the L.A.B a beautiful, blessed, and wonderful week. God bless everyone. 🙂

    One Day

One day I wish to meet my one true love,
the one who will make my life feel complete.
An angel of beauty sent from above,
who my heart will truly be blessed to meet.

One day I hope to share a warm embrace,
as I hold her close to my beating heart.
With my hands gently caressing her face,
I will promise her we shall never part.

One day I yearn to share a precious kiss,
with our lips connecting in pure romance.
On the day we unite in wedded bliss,
I will be a good man given the chance.

One day I pray for this pain to be healed,
my love no longer wants to be concealed.

    Souls Desire

    Kids , Moms
people with more then one job
    life is……
    you cant make it stop

    its guud to pray.
    No matter where you are
    you know what i mean
    its guud to pray-
these wurds dont cost a thing
    there actually what you need

    use them in hard times
    let it work that way.
    Have less regrets in life
    always think twice
    forget the bad times
    love is guud as luv
be guud at what you got goin on
    be the odds-
    still have hope
    still dream

  9. What the Soul Wants
    By David Cardenas

My head said she is untouchable
But she’s so lustable and so lovable
I dare not stare at her too long
I wonder which one of me is wrong
Is it my heart, my brain or my soul?
It rips me apart and I can’t let go
I want to kiss her cheek ever so gently
Make sure the opposite side of her bed is never empty
I try to resist her, but what the soul want, it gets
So I close my eyes until my body, it sweats
Now I’m at war with myself
My head, my heart and my souls, all in hell
[My head] It’s not right, and you know this
[My heart] She’s your light, you can’t resist
[My soul] I want a kiss, I just want a kiss
And me, well, I stand her speechless
I’m left wondering, “What should I do?”
My soul keeps screaming, “SHE’S FOR YOU”
But I know, she shouldn’t be touched
I don’t know a lot, but I know this much
So, I turn and walk away, my heart’s crushed
Then from behind, I feel a subtle touch
It is her; I face her and she holds my neck
And tells me, what the soul want, the soul get
