American Me (8/5/11)

The Civil Plight of the urban world is truly felt in the land that surround us. We work and slave often seem to not care if we live or die, succeed or fail.  This week in The UGL, our host BLACKE ROSE, expresses the plight of  the urban world. Welcome to America everyone. This is his “American Me”

      Babylon Is Fallen

I’ve been liberated from my mother now for 200 years or older.
Shed more blood than the Katrina flood whether the water was hotter or colder.
Fought for the freedom of many people just so they can have democracy
But by the encouragement of the government you can still see the hypocrisy.
I’ve owned more slaves that Arlington has graves and some wonder how I did it
By putting them in a bind and enslaving their minds but I guess I’ll never admit it.
But despite the bad I’ve done some good as I’ll explain to you in a minute
I’ve lent my powers after to destroyed towers and yet some people were still offended.
I’ve allowed drugs in my neighborhoods causing major consequences and repercussions.
As I was hesitant to have a president who still thinks there are weapons of mass destruction.
I’ve caused for inflation for an entire nation and put more people on welfare
Made the medicine so high that the people have died because they couldn’t afford the health care.
I’ve traveled to foreign soil to get some oil and put my soldiers in harms way.
And yet the price of gas has been put on blast since at least 2001 in May
If you haven’t figured out who I am by now I’m staring you right in the face.
Plain and simple like a pair of dimples because God has shed His grace.
I am who the immigrants come to to live in a brand new place
I’ll do you one better by taking the seven letters that spell out I Am Race.

  4. this is an amazing challenge ………i am loving his piece. i so will be back a lil later with something

    August 5, 2011 at 11:44 am

  5. Love the challenge, not to mention the depth & honesty of the piece. Our nation is many things to many people, but it’s history is undeniable.

    my country, ‘tis of thee,
    sweet land of liberty
    yet many are not free
    this land where
    my fathers died
    still bears the shame
    of the pilgrims’ pride
    from every mountain side
    a cry of desperation
    should arise
    cries for the inequality
    rooted in truth
    not allowed to be
    languishing
    over lives we’ve lost
    in pursuit of liberty…
    let freedom ring

    COMPANY!

    ATTENTION!

    FORWARD!

MARCH! Into a era were serving your country has become WORTHLESS!
We return to from duty of serving and we still remain WORKLESS!
Our precious breath, blood, tears and hard earned SWEAT!
Was futile because the training and skills you gave me are now USELESS!

The Truth is, not all of America support us
We gave our lives to protect your mother, fathers, sons and daughters
Scenes of our deaths spread wide by many different reporters
So is too much to ask for our government to be able to afford us

    The atrocities
    From the Bureaucracy
    Makes a mockery
    Are we only government property?
UNITED STATES OF People Mocking me
Keep your fake Props for me
Cuz its not Hard to see
    That I’m a soldier

MY AMERICAN ME WAS BORN WITH A HOT SPOON IN MY MOUTH
THAT BURNED ME SO SEVERELY IN ORDER TO KEEP ME FROM
PROTESTING AGAINST THIS COUNTRY THAT CLAIMS TO BE THE
LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE. MY PEOPLE
NEVER GOT TO EXPERIENCE OUR GOD-GIVEN FREEDOM AND
WE WERE BROUGHT HERE BY A SHIP FULL OF COWARDS TOO
DAMN LAZY TO WORK THEIR OWN LAND IF THEY HAVE ANYTHING
TO BE PROUD OF IT SHOULD BE THE FACT THAT A REVOLUTION
HAS NEVER TAKEN PLACE BECAUSE SLAVERY WOULD TAKE A NEW
FORM LET’S CRACK THE WHIP ON SOME TENDER WHITE FLESH AND
SOME OF YOU NEGROES WHO TOOK PART IN OUR DEMISE YEAH YOU
GONNA GET IT TOO. THIS COUNTRY AS OFFERED NOTHING BUT SHAME
TO HAVE THE WORD AMERICAN ATTACHED TO MY TRUE HERITAGE I
WASN’T BORN HERE I WAS BOUGHT AND SOLD HERE. THE AMERICAN ME
CAN BE FOUND UNDER A MICROSCOPE OR A MAGNIFYING GLASS, MY
SIGNIFICANCE AS BEEN REDUCED TO DUST I AM STILL LOOKED AT AS
A NIGGER INSTEAD OF A QUEEN AND A BITCH INSTEAD OF ROYALTY
MY KINGS HAVE BEEN MELTED DOWN AND MOLDED INTO TRAINED DRUG
DEALERS, WOMAN BEATERS, AND SEX-CRAZED FOOLS CHASING A DREAM
THAT WAS AND WILL NEVER BE THEIRS. AMERICA THE GREAT, AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
IT’S ALL JUST A HUGE UGLY NIGHTMARE THAT I AM TRYING TO WAKE UP FROM. I WANT
NO PART OF THIS FREEDOM THE PRICE IS TOO MUCH TO PAY. MY PRIDE, MY TITLE
THE EMPOWERMENT OF TE NEXT GENERATION HAS BEEN COMPROMISED AND THE WEALTHY
ELITE ARE STEADY ON THE RISE. THEIR RICHES ARE STILL EARNED ON THE BACKS OF ANOTHER RACE
STILL AFTER ALL THIS TIME TOO LAZY TO CREATE THEIR OWN PLACE IN HISTORY. THESE ARE THE
THE WORDS OF AMERICAN ME, THE ONLY WAY I CAN EXPRESS MYSELF FREELY BECAUSE I WAS CAUGHT
IN THE TRAP OF SILENT INVISIBILITY.

  9. Well well well my American friend, you nailed it, boxed it and shipped it out to the embassy! You delivered the truth to your country. We are who they made us, if it weren’t for caring and responsible people in this world we would be even more tainted and corrupted. I really love how you set this piece up.

    My American Dream

    Oh say can you see
    what America is to me
a stranger in a foreign land
    that wasn’t my home
Or can we truly say it was not
    when pictures on cave walls
in Hawaiian, Samoan and Polynesian seas
depict a people with brown skin
on rafts coming to this land that looked
    just like me

    Let freedom ring
    In this place my ancestors
    gave their lives building
Toiling with every drop of their
sweat and blood knowing their seeds
would have to grow transplanted here
    In this American dream
    having to fend for theirself
    to declare a shared wealth

As I pray that these broad stripes and bright stars
do not represent brutal beatings by police
leaving us murdered or even scarred
    through the perilous fight
    and that homelessness and unemployment
do not become my families or any others plight

I long to see by the dawns early light
an America that invests in it’s
citizens being champions in this global commerce
showing that we are the more
and not the less in our worth
No class structures, standing as one against poverty
using elbow grease and not lipservice
so the we truly have liberty and justice for all
Where not only the elite and wealthy
are the ones that get to make the call

This is the America I long for
when I look out from sea to shining sea
one that is accutely aware that for us
    to claim United we stand
it truly has to be a place
    that includes and not excludes
the American you and the American Me

  11. MadeNamerica
    by Urban Voodoo

    I was
    Made in America
Just like the Hollywood make believe
    Stories that pretend to
    Portray reality;
I was contaminated by a filthy
    Syringe of injustice,
    In a US pharmaceutical cage
Where no warranties would guarantee that the product of my labor would
    Ever bring me a return on my investments;
    Doctored up like
    Mumias Case and
    Bunchy Carter’s Murder
The bullet that shattered my brothers
Face still lingers in the back of my mind and I cannot get over the slippery feeling of blood at my fingertips.
There has been far too much blood
    Shed in my brothas name
    Grizzly rivalries
    Every time the summers came
    Made in America
    Like auto parts
    Shipped from chrysler
    Pieced together half-ass
    Like a repair job
    Performed by a shade tree
    Mechanic
    Your affirmative action
Only prolonged the ebb and flow
    Of deteriorating morality;
    Made in America
    Like the ridiculous ignorance
    Of bigotry
We find ourselves on an assembly line
    Of degradation
In a nation known for creating more
    Criminals than scholars
Like a car accident when the gears slip
It don’t take much to make an otherwise normal man a murderer
    Call it vehicular homicide
    Where mechanical error
Is the culprit and I plead no contest
I had no steering wheel to guide
    My community through
    The harsh thickness of
    Brushfire.
    My tribe has been
    Demonized like so many others;
    Made in America
Like the lost child born 25 miles beyond the boder
    Who can you trust?
    We were all…
    Made In America.

  12. Greedy
    Needy
    Hopeless
    And pathetic
    Unapolegitic
    America me
One nation under me , myself and I
Families fighting over that piece of that American Pie
    Big dreams drift to wasteland
No longer land of the free and the brave
Now we a slave to the man
Work just to keep from dying
That got us on empty bellies
    Begging please don’t shoot
    Violent
    Desecration
    Humanity waste away
    Like the economy
    We are pathetic
    Selfish
    Heartless
    American me
    American made
    Stepchild bastards
    Hooked on cheating the system
    Cause we are tired
    Of working our ass off
    And getting nowhere
    Dead ends everywhere
And no one cares about us
    So why still complain
    They still rob the poor
    And the rich get richer
    Corporations the new enemy
Leading us into a new era
Where we can’t even trust one another
Cause someone always got a gun
High speed chases and every one is on mood stabilzers
I watch the channel nine news and wonder
when they will ever get back from commercial and
    give us some real news
cause I know we sick of being lied too
    america me
    american made
    empty and begging for more
we are man made self detonating hate machines
and its time we woke up
before things get better they always get worse
and they are already are taking
when we will take a stand and say enough is enough
when we will say we want a troops home
when we will go out of our way to assist the homeless in our countries
    fix our declining school system
stop letting the government dictate our lives
when we will become a nation for the people by the people
we won’t so we must be prepared to fight………..

  13. The American Me…

Silently molded by words of “peace”
Instilled thoughts on how I should be.
    How we should be…
    You know, the American Me…Us
    The only way to be.

    The true colors of freedom
    Hidden under the false threesome…
    Red, white and blue
    Political treason.
Hush…do not dare say such things!
    For this is “our country”

We have been cheated of truth
    Blind towards our youth…

Holding onto myths, just to try and fit in
    To say, I obeyed…
    No laws been broken.
    Am I just Joken?

    Politicians corrupted
    Sexual acts being thrusted
Turning an eye to those kind.
The kind who would kill, and not be known to lie.

    But you see…
    Its us, not them
We are the ones who fail…
    Cause me, you, us…
Should come together and take a stand.

Take over whats us, ours, our land…religion
    Gain true freedom
As I desire to be the true American Me…
The best that I can be…
So our future children will live in better lands!

    Better than paying Uncle Sam
And getting fucked over by the middle man.

    Wanna join me in becoming…
    A true American…

    The American Me…You, Us…
The threesome that needs to be formed for freedom!

    August 5, 2011 at 11:13 pm

    • What can I say? You said soo much in your write. If you spit any more truth, you will be cottoned mouth. Great job.

      David

      August 6, 2011 at 10:55 am

    • ‘Take over whats us, ours, our land…religion

  15. I walk not in the mold of cold mankind
who’s statements are neither justice or blind
when on paved streets of gold people
    go hungry and go cold
when life is supposed to be equal
but that apparently is to be found on a not in this life sequel
    so
happily I give me…my American me to another cause
one that makes happy but I seek not applause nor
validation, because how could God just be jovial about
    One Nation
I life my voice to allow a greater power to heal
the love and joy the greedy politicians try to steal
The happiness that war tries to sully
    Big Businesses extreme bullies
I walk the pavement with a different message
    One that can’t be stopped
I search this planet with a different flow
    One that can’t be stopped
    They see me and wonder
What is that power in her hand…..
I open my mouth and speak with the authority of a MAN…
    Because
My mind has been trained to go beyond
    Where mortal man must stop
    I have conquered mental blockades
    That they tried to introduce
    See I know the source
    of the enemies juice……

    I am enlightened
Never to become bitter or seduced.

  17. American Me (You, Me and Us)By David Cardenas

American Me is schizophrenic, you, me and us
It used to be in US we trust
But now a dayz, it’s not enough
I look in the mirror, not believing me
Eyes blindfolded to the truth, like I’m not seeing me
I mean, who am I really; Am I patriotic or a murderous thief
Raping my own integrity, despite my needs
Trapped in voyeurism, watching the homeless and children bleed
I hold my thoughts in trying to kill the feed
But it’s replayed on CNN, I’m revealed in greed
Hanging on to the bullshit that we are the land of the free
Home of the brave; it’s outlandish to me
We cross over seas, just a new place to die
I can’t hear freedom ring beyond all the mothers’ cries
Beyond all the others’ lies, I’m smothered by bureaucratic flies
Surrounding you, me and us as the Truth passes us by
I let my loose leaf bust, my pen crashes these lives
As we try to wake up, they sing us lullabies
But spew and cuss, NICE FUCKING TRY
I keep pointing fingers, at greed, capitalism, and lust
But they all point back to you me and us
American Me, I spit it with a gangsters bust
The game married me, with an aim to crush
Am I a psychopathic killing with the Grim Reapers touch?
I ask this as I inject heroin, smoke crack and inhale dust
I blast this, as my AK 47 mentality adjusts
I take myself hostage, like I’m Blazing Saddles
Tell you to back off this, venomous bites sound like shaking rattles
Got them chewing on that cud, like grazing cattle
But I’m all scarred up, like I was raised in battle
And as I squeeze on the trigger and the hammer bust
I find that the guilty party are only, you me and us
    American me…

    • ‘Hanging on to the bullshit that we are the land of the free
Home of the brave; it’s outlandish to me
We cross over seas, just a new place to die
I can’t hear freedom ring beyond all the mothers’ cries
Beyond all the others’ lies, I’m smothered by bureaucratic flies
Surrounding you, me and us as the Truth passes us by’

This is brilliant David. So very sad too. Well done!

  18. eNYgma is in here…lets get it…

Always felt the passion to serve, in my soul it burns in me
Lessons that I learned for me? The States are good at hurting me
Answering my nation’s call, I thought that it was God’s act
Mom told me “Not that”, and pissed I signed the contract
Wanted me to live my life and satisfy the grooms role
Thought that I’d be screwed too, wrong rank on his tombstone
Dad SHOULD be a Sergeant, but a Corporal in Marines eyes?
An insult; To her? Her son joining didnt seem wise
I blazed the path I wanted to, and if you asked it SEEMED right
I dream bright but if you ask NOW? I wanna scream right
No support we getting, and it looks the props are fake to me
They hating me, telling truth? Very few would pray for me
They ignorance is maiming me, stupidity is shaking me
The mission gon get done REGARDLESS so they aint breaking me
I cant get a mention on the news, I think thats kinda wrong
“Support the troops” yeah until “Dancing with the Stars” is on
Jersey Shore too and Teen Mom, truly what has happened here?
Supporting us? How could you? All you peeps are trapped in fear
My brothers coming back and hopeless, own throats the knife’ll slice
Many’ll never feel bad, no clue of what this life is like
A darn shame, where to go? Hell should be the option last
Again NEVER on the news, but I see it took a copter crash

    August 6, 2011 at 1:38 pm

    • I can only imagine your frustration at the little time and media coverage you and your comrades receive on all the sacrifice you make. I only hope this type of blase thinking about the men in uniform will change and you get the respect you deserve. Great write D.

  19. Criminal Mind /American Son’s

I watched as they brought them in one by one,
Orange jump suit shackles from waist to wrist.

Head’s hanging low from the embarrassment of
being paraded around like a circus clown.

    Theses are our American Son’s.

Emotionless, dazed at what is happening .

Kingfisher uneducated to the fact that they
are king’s unable to reach the jewels of their kingdom.

Bound by the life if the streets, the dope, guns
and fast cash addicted to the life of a thug.

These aren’t criminals but our American Son’s.
King’s that should walk with pride, shoulders up
back straight and head held high.

But yet these kings fail to realize to put pride in their
    stride.

These aren’t criminals but men with criminal minds.

Trying to fill a void for a child inside lost
to a system and to a life of crime.

Crowns on the head’s of these kings jewels
on their fingers silk robes on their bodies.

But only shackles, cuffs, and a orange jumpsuit
cover their bodies. Reducing them to peasants
adding the label of rebel along with a conviction.

Kings treated and chained like dogs, where is the
help,I feel a need to help our kings, our American Son’s.

These aren’t criminal men but men with criminal minds.
This could be your son….it could even be mine.

    American Son’s with criminal minds.

    • To see someone you love chained and handcuffed and being unable to help them, would be such a terrible thing. I always believe in the adage, ‘Innocent till proved guilty’ Great write

  20. Congratulations Black Rose, on a brilliant write. Such passion here and you hilite so much of that which is all wrong in America and the world in general

    August 7, 2011 at 3:39 am

  21. Who are we
    BUT noise silenced
    Children of children’s violence
addicts of our own chosen addictions
    molestations of morals and afflictions
Living in days where innocence needs ignorance
    And a helping hand
Seems to slap you down until you land
    In the mouths of judgments
And circles of the same sentiments
    With no recognition of self…
Yet my souls an immigrant to this earth
So American Me? Doesn’t say shit about my worth!
    I always be human first
And its a shame ….a feeling isn’t touched until its forced
And being human is easily forgotten and dismissed …just like this verse…

    August 8, 2011 at 1:31 am

    • This verse nor your sentiments can ever be dismissed. Very deeply penned.

    Hell American Me

    My own natural born enemy
can’t help i was born in corruptions.
    Born to discriminate against each
    other ,hand fed spiritual knowledge
    about a man…………
then they cast in doubts of his existence
    hell american me……
didnt the script try to hip an warn on ,denominations
but the corrupt deceit keep hush on the secret
    occults within
    hell american me…
    Built upon chaos that
    runs among the serpents skin….
    which this, corrupts…
    feed the thirst
    of american flesh within
the rattled tail taints every corner
    from church,liqour stores and
    concrete jungles.
    .Hell american me
can.t help the shit they filter
as they play of like a game of chest..
    buy sells us off
    like stock and bonds…..
    by our social security numbers…
    Hell american me….
    Most top officals that
don’t believe , try to move
the most high out to confuse thee…..
then blind our vison with the root
of evil…and make believing that they can
    make a damn change.
    Hell american me…..
as the controllers continue push in the
media rumors of war and interfere in
    affairs they can not change
but refuse to butt out, because
of their non belief damn its written.
    this fight is spiritual…….
Hell come out the american ………in me…….
